The Move
In 1972, with the support of Ron and Joan Gardener, the Halswell Pottery Group was established in the old farm cottage at 9 Candys Road. Sadly, our lease will be ending in January 2029 and we need to find a new home.
Our hunt for a new location started in late 2024, and while many different options have been explored, it is proving difficult to find somewhere suitable. With all the large and specialized equipment the group has, the place we move to will need to a place we can settle into for the long term, provide adequate parking for members, our students and the public, and a space to be able to set up a new gallery to sell our members work.
The Halswell Pottery Group has been an incorporated society since 1972, with a strong financial track record. As a 100% volunteer organization, our goal is to continue to be able to provide affordable access to the arts for the wider community in Christchurch and Selwyn.
